University of Virgina-Healthsouth is proud to announce that we have recieved accreditation from the APTA for our orthopedic
residency. We have graduated one resident who has successfully passed the Orthopedic Specialist Certification examination
and currently have two residents in the 2009 program.
The position is available currently for the January 2010
class of the residency. We have two positions, one at University of Virginia-Healthsouth
and at PRO Physical Therapy in Winchester, VA. We are also developing other sites in the central Virginia
area. The resident will have 4 hours weekly of 1:1 mentoring. The resident will participate in OMT course below as well as monthly journal club. The proximity of the biomechanics lab, research relationship with UVA Sports Medicine doctoral program
as well as UVA Physical Medicine, Orthopedics, Radiology and Pain Management presents multiple learning opportunities. The goal of the residency is to prepare the resident for the ABPTS Orthopedic Specialty
Examination as well as to prepare for advanced Fellowship training.
