Orthopedic Manual Therapy Seminars was founded in 2001 by Jim Beazell, site coordinator and residency director for UVA-Healthsouth Outpatient Clinic in Charlottesville, VA and recipient of the HealthSouth 2003 Clinician of the Year Award, in order to develop the Long Term Orthopedic Manual Therapy Course.   This 1 weekend/month for 6 months course was developed and is taught by Jim Beazell, DPT, PT, OCS, FAAOMPT, ATC, and Eric Magrum, PT, OCS, FAAOMPT.  The goal of the course is to provide a comprehensive  learning experience which will result in significant advancement of  skills of examination and treatment as well as a sound clinical reasoning process in order to develop a more efficient and effective clinician.

We initiated our first Orthopedic Manual Therapy course in 2002.  We are proud to announce the accreditation of the University of Virginia-Healthsouth Orthopedic Residency by the Americal Physical Therapy Association in 2009 as Virginia's first Orthopedic Residency
